Painted Panels

If you are new to the paint series this is day 19 of 31 days of the Power of Paint. If you'd like to see the entire series click  HERE.

These plastic panels came off the front of a cabinet that I redid a few years ago. I replaced the cabinet doors because they were warn out but I saved these plastic panels, thinking I would do something with them.

The back of the panel looks like this. There was a huge gaudy handle in the middle of each panel.

I laid these out in the sun {on my lawn again} and spray painted them, first with a spray primer then with a satin finish white.

It took a few coats to fill the nooks and crannies of these ornate pieces but what a delight when they are all white. I am going to put a coat hook in each of the holes and use them in my front entry for coats and hats and things.

I am debating distressing these. Would you? Would you hang them all in a row or 2 over 2? Decisions, decisions... not even sure how I will manage to hang them, if you look at the "back" photo above you'll see it may be a bit complicated. I find that type of challenge is fun.

Can't believe it's been 19 days of writing and I still have something to write about. I was worried. It helps to be a compulsive crafter. Have you seen all the other 31 Days participants {go HERE}, there are over 700 topics.

  1. Speaking of painting on the lawn, I think my neighbors sold their house...won't the new people be surprised! I would put a glaze on them, not sure if that is what you mean by distressing? As for hanging....sorry, I would have to see the different groupings to decide. You have good taste, you'll get it right!

  2. Been loving your 31 days ... thanks for sharing! If you hang these 2 over 2, the stuff hanging on the top 2 might hang down over the bottom 2 hooks, so it'd depend on what you plan on hanging on them. Be sure to show what you end up doing with them! Amazing what a little paint can do LOL!
