LIEBSTER AWARD

Patty, from Patty's Epiphanies nominated me for the Liebster Award back on August 12. It is such an honor. So I am going to try to play along.  Thank you, Patty! I feel so blessed to have met such amazing bloggers over the years. I hope you all will stop by and check out Patty's blog. She is has an amazing eye for design.

So here goes!

Here are 11 facts about me:

1. I am 42 years young. I don't know how I got this old all of the sudden.
2. I married the love of my life, Joe, when I was 39 years old. Yes, just 3 years ago! But we've been together for 8 years total.
3. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, we are very close. My sisters are my best friends.
4. I did not finish college. I quit to marry my first husband (Big mistake, girls! Don't do it!).
5. I have a website design business called Opportunity Designs. I make websites for businesses in my area and plan to do blog designs soon.
6. I re-read Wurthering Heights by Emily Bronte every year and purchase every copy of her book that comes across my path. It's a problem, I know.
7. I have 2 daughters one 19, the other 6. I have a stepdaughter 16 and stepson 14, who I have been raising for 8 years. I love them all fiercely. I also have a Grandson, who is 6 wks old.

(Wow! This is hard!)

8. I cannot sew a straight line to save my life!
9. I can paint just about anything I set my mind to... not just furniture, I mean art. I just haven't done it in a while. I use acrylic on canvas but oils are divine too. I'd rather paint furniture.
10. I have incredibly long hair (to my waist) that is naturally curly and dark brown. It comes out of my head in ringlets. I wear it in a pony tail every day because I am too chicken to cut it off.
11. I am plotting to move out of these snowy mountains when our son graduates high school in 4 years. I need some ocean breezes in my life.



Here are the questions for the Bloggers that were nominated by Patty.

1. What is your passion in life.

My passion in life is writing. I have wanted to pursue writing since I was a child. My first career was a journalist but I found that there was no heart in it. Just the facts. I turned to marketing at a local ski resort and actually got paid to ski and write about it. As a stay-at- home Mom, I needed an writing outlet that's why I turned to blogging.

2. Who influenced you.
My Sisters have always influenced me (good or bad) I have followed their advise on everything, all of my life and am so indebted to them. They are my heart, all 3 of them.

3. Why did you start writing a blog
I began writing this blog in 2008, at first I had no direction just wanted to write and create then I realized that I should write about what I was creating in my everyday life.

4. Are you a morning or a night person
I am a night person. I will stay up till dawn to finish a project and would kill to sleep to at least 9 a.m. daily.

5. What is your favorite color
My favorite color has always been red. Lately ,I've been on a blue home decor streak though.

6. What room do you "live" in
I live in my office which is right off the living room, my family wanders in and out and I can hear, see and interject on just about everything they are doing from here.

7. Are you a "Gold" or "Silver" Girl
Funny! I am a Silver girl, because my husband, father and grandfather are/were Silver Miners. Here in the Northern Panhandle of Idaho, that's what we do. I wear silver to honor them. I decorate with all metals gold, silver, rust :)

8. Would you prefer to spend your vacation in the mountains or at the beach
Since I live in the mountains, I crave the beach. The Oregon Coast calls to me. It is part of my five year plan to move there. We vacation there as often as we can.

About 7 miles up a single lane, bumpy old dirt

road where we go pick huckleberries. Yes, I drive it!

9. What part of the world would you most want to visit
I would love to visit Wales, my Grandparents are both from Wales.

10. Coffee or Tea
Coffee, old fashioned drip coffee with hazelnut creamer gets me through the day.

11. Do you still wear a wrist watch

Not on a daily basis but I have a vintage gold one I wear when dress up.
