I've been having a ball working my new job at Emerson Courtyard. It's an estate with 4 vacation homes. On the East end of the courtyard there sits 2 adorable cottages. It has been such a pleasure taking care of these little cozy houses. I love showing them to people and want to share them with you too.
I wrote about the Yellow Cottage on the left HERE. Part 1 of the Green Cottage interior HERE. Today I'd like to show you the bedrooms in the Green Cottage.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms. The twin bedroom is simple and sweet and defined, I'd say, by the linens. The room is painted a soft cream color with white trim. It's twin rod iron beds with musical motif are fitted with luxurious feather duvets and fresh cotton sheets. The denim, yellow and red theme prevails.
Both beds have a quilt adorning the wall next to it. They serve as both art and for those chilly nights, extra bedding.
Between the beds sits this simple glass topped table with teddy bear. The white eyelet table cloth theme is carried throughout the cottage.
This hand painted shelf with the same flower motif as the bed skirts on the twin beds, sits in the master bedroom next to the armoire. I must find some cute little vases or trinkets to dress it up with.
The night stand in the master bedroom is this vintage trestle table with another eyelet table cloth. The table is set with some good books, flower pots and old wooden spools.
Here is the room in the morning with the light coming in the southern facing window.
On the other side of the bed sits an armoire which holds extra pillows and blankets and has room to hang clothes.
Detail of the hand painted head board.
The french doors make it so inviting. There is a simplicity here that I cannot explain. While I know that each and every item in these rooms were chosen with great attention to deal, I believe the simplify of it all makes it so quaint. I hope you enjoyed this tour. I'm in the process of furnishing the Carriage House Cottage and am trying hard to achieve this look. I'll share that with you soon.
