Handmade Christmas Stockings

I am in love with fabric ticking. The good old fashioned stuff pillows were made out of back in the good old days. I found this fabric resembling ticking at Walmart for an unbelievably low price. So I spent this weekend making boys and girls stockings.

The girls red stockings have fabric flowers made from scraps of white taffeta I had in my fabric box. {How to make fabric flowers click HERE}. The boys stockings got red rick rack. To make the stockings, I literally pinned an old stocking to the fabric and cut it out. I made it extra long so I could fold down the top, cut it with pinking shears and used a little fray check on the exposed seams. Can't wait to start decorating!

Are you ready for the holidays? After it snowed this weekend, it was like a huge wake up call, I figured I'd better get cracking...

  1. These are ADORABLE. I love how the proprotions are shortened a bit from the average stocking for extra cuteness.
