Damask: A firm lustrous fabric (as of linen, cotton, silk or rayon) made with flat patterns in a satin weave on a plain-woven ground on jacquard looms.
My definition of Damask would be a heavenly, timeless pattern of leaves and flowers on linen.
I bet you can't guess where I discovered this vintage damask fabric.
I just love the linen look and the color. When I picked it up to bring it home, I remember my Dad telling me, "That's just ugly." And thinking to myself, "Are we looking at the same thing?"
I am going to take a ton of photos of it and use them in some graphic design projects.
Yep, on a flower pot. A vintage {40s to 60s? Any ideas??} flower pot that was once my Grandma Clara's. It's incredibly heavy plastic with this amazing linen attached to it. I don't think my Grandma added the fabric, I think I was made this way. It is a thick soft linen. There are no markings on the pot at all, so I am clueless as to it's age. But it was in her house as long as I can remember.
Looking at it just makes me happy.
What a great touch to a plastic pot. I'm going to remember that one.
