This weekend the sun came calling. Calling for us to get outside and work on the garden. Here are Joe and Sophie working on one of our raised garden beds. We grow strawberries and all sorts of salad fixings in this bed. It's still early in the season for us to plant young seedlings, for fear of frost. We start our plants inside from seed and transplant in June. Except strawberries, they are so hardy. We planted 50 new strawberry plants this season.
Here's Sophie showing off her "wormy" friend. She is such a brave girl. There's no way I'd pick that up! :)
While Joe was working away, I shot a few pictures of our property. This old wheel is on the fence in our raspberry patch.
I love this old rusty chain.
Blue skies and our neighbors pussy willow tree peaking out over the fence. Can you spot the sparrow flying overhead?
Do you plant edibles or flowers? I planted strawberries in my rusty wheelbarrow in the front garden. I can't wait to taste that bitter sweet fruit of summer. How is your garden coming along?
Look how happy Sophie looks! I have not made it to my veggie garden yet. It needs an overhaul first.
