I love this sign. But I decided it needed a little facelift.

(Sorry for the major blurriness of the sign in this picture,
at the time I was focusing on the dresser.)

I wrote about how I made the sign using 1/2 plywood, black craft paint and vinyl lettering HERE. I purchased the vinyl from a vender at the Junk Salvation antique show, her vender name is The Mad Cow. :) She is an amazing painter. You have to see her Union Jack dresser, check out her Facebook page HERE. Tell her Nana Moon Shop sent you.

I made homemade chalk paint for this project using a recipe from Elizabeth and Co. blog HERE. Sharon is also an amazing painter of furniture. If you are looking for painted furniture inspiration, you have got to check out her blog.

For the facelift, I painted my homemade chalk paint right over the vinyl and the black, 2 coats but I could have stopped at one, I let it dry and spent hours with my little razor pealing off letters. It was worth the effort. I did this a year after I had first attached the vinyl and the paint seeped through in places. But I really love the way it turned out.

It now hangs in my office above my vintage typewriters and next to my nonworking old school house clock that drives everyone in my house crazy because it’s always 1:55.
