Tutorial Coffee Filter Flowers

Do you remember my Faded Rose Wreath? Here's the tutorial I promised.

I bought a straw covered wreath for Halloween and never used it so I took some rough muslin fabric and cut it into strips and wrapped the wreath. Hot gluing as I went.

I used Natural coffee filters because their coloring is fabulous! Plus they are under $2 for 100 filters. Can't beat that, right?
Take one filter and fold it in half and flatten it out.
Then fold it in half again. Pinch and twist the ends to look like these. It takes 6 coffee filters to make one large flower.

I hot glue them together {watch your fingers! ouch!} and I also tie them off with string.

I inked the edges of my flowers with Distress Ink and a little red ink pad just to add color and make it look even older. Experiment with the filters. 3 of them make adorable small roses. I used some on my little Christmas tree.

Happy Holidays!
