This picture pretty much sums it up for me, it has the right colors and that vintage feel that I love. Plus, it has the word Hope on it which is really where I am: I HOPE... I hope I can get this all done in time! I'm going to find a vintage frame or make one and she will be 1 piece of art in my room. I got her over at Graphics Fairy.
If you will remember from my mood board, I am accessorizing with shells and nautical items. So I've been shopping.
Some of the things I have found, a coat hook to be used as a towel rack, a large sea shell dish for soap, a lobster buoy and some sea shells. The board in the picture above will soon be a sign. As you can tell, I am going for mostly white accessories because the walls are such a bright blue.
I found the lobster buoy at Michael's. This is its original color (minus the blue tape). I decided I didn't like the green so I just taped it off and painted it with craft paint. I'm looking for pops of red.
I rested it in the tape roll to let it dry, then sanded the edges to have it match the worn look of the original paint. Quick and easy fix, don't settle... paint and get the color you want.
I have so much more to do on my room, I am feeling quite overwhelmed. We still haven't grouted the tile or finished the trim around the door or window. I told you, we have a phobia of grout, it's holding us back. I hope today is the day that the grouting happens... I HOPE :)
Don't forget about the other crazy brilliant, brave ladies taking this challenge! Stop by and see their progress.

ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is going to turn out fabulous Danylle, you are making great progress! I think we are all feeling a little stressed. So don't worry, Deep breath aaaand start grouting! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. Push on! Maybe this will be the week, I keep telling myself. I almost blew up the house an hour ago, trying to put my sconces up. I called my electrician, and he has not returned my call. Never a good sign. It will be great.
ReplyDeleteFrom your plans it looks like it's going to be a very pretty room when it's done! I can't wait to see the final reveal!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brooke!
DeleteOh it is going to be so calm and spa-like! Don't Fear the Grout!! You can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteI am a little scared and overwhelmed also...of course not picking a room in my own home was my first mistake! Love the coastal touches...my favorite!
ReplyDeleteIt is the grout color choices that always give me pause...I feel your pain but things are looking great!
ReplyDeleteJust pretend that whatever you turn out with was your plan from the beginning -- that's what I'm going to do!! I love the nautical, serene look you're implementing. It's going to be lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is coming along! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great switch up on the buoy!
ReplyDeleteGood luck grouting! It is coming along....we are all rolling along and changing things along the way, at least I am!
ReplyDeleteLooks good! Love the coat hooks for a towel rack. Painting the buoy is a great idea. (I always back away from painting something 'new'--how crazy is that--you inspire me!). Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for stopping by and commenting! It means the world to me!
