One Room Challenge Week 2

Welcome to week 2 of the One Room Challenge. 20 Design-Oriented Bloggers, 20 Room Makeovers Finished in 6 weeks. To see week 1 of this challenge click HERE.

I am off to a great start with my Master Bath Retreat. This week I painted the baseboards and sealed the tile in the shower to prep it for grout, which we have decided to tackle DIY style. {Say a little prayer that I don't ruin the tile, please.} And I shopped... shopped A LOT.

As you can see from my {first ever} mood board, I am hoping to find or create all of the above. I have a huge collection of vintage Mason jars, so I am going to make the soap dispenser. I also have a collection of shells and starfish I want to display in a creative way. I want to bring in a pop of red as an accent color to break up all of the blue.

I uploaded my inspiration photo over at Sherwin-William's new tool called Chip It. You upload your own photo and it gives you paint chips! I am hooked on this!

So, of course, I tried a second photo from our honeymoon and came up with these colors.
While the second photo of the sunset is magical and dreamy, I think I will stick to the color pallette of the first one with the addition of a little red. I think I will frame the second one for my art wall. Next week, I will post pics my progress, my shopping haul and my solution to the shower curtain dilemma.

Here is a list of the Blogs participating in the One Room Challenge. I hope you will stop by and visit their blogs. There are links to all of them at the bottom of this post.

On a personal note, my oldest daughter is scheduled to have my first grandchild on Friday, July 6th. If all goes as planned, I will post photos of my little grandson, Cylas Anthony, soon. If you could say a little prayer for a safe delivery for mother and baby, I'd really appreciate it. I don't think I've ever been more scared, anxious and nervous for my daughter. This challenge is exactly the distraction I needed.

Happy 4th of July to you!

  1. Your daughter and grandson will be fine. I just know it! I have to try that paint chip, thing. BM has a free iphone app that is similar. Good luck with grouting. I have never grouted existing tile, only new tile.
